This is one of the first few nursery rhyme song which I’d introduced to Sweet Butterfly and she loves it lots.  We had been playing with the laminates constantly since she was 17 months.  Through this activity, Sweet Butterfly had learnt to recognize 1-5.  And now, she can sing and play out the rhyme very well.  She never got bored of these laminates.  Recently we borrowed the book, “Five Little Monkeys” from the library.  So our laminates came out again.

The singing starts with a monkey ‘jumping’.

The monkey had bumped his head.  So she cuddled him.

It’s Mummy’s turn to cuddle the monkey.

She usually sings from ‘5 monkeys’ to ‘1 monkey’ to ‘No more monkeys’.  But now, she always stopped right after ‘and bump his head’ to give the monkeys are long cuddle.  Everyone got to take turns to cuddle the monkey.  I love using laminates cause it never fails to amaze me how imaginative Sweet Butterfly can get.  The different ways she plays with the laminate pieces….WOW….
